This program starts in the beginning of January. Boys and girls in grades K-8 are eligible to participate. There are typically separate boys and girls teams for the grade 3-5 division. K-2 and 6-8 divisions are co-ed. Players in the beginning level are introduced to the fundamentals of basketball, and as the grade level progresses, the instruction level is adjusted to meet each players needs. Practices are held two weekday evenings a week at either 5:45pm or 7pm, depending on the division. The fee for this program is $43 per player with a discount for families registering three or more players.
Registration typically opens in the beginning of November.
Basketball Spectator Guidelines
In response to your questions about spectators at games, BARC has made the following changes:
- We are allowing one spectator (family member) per player at each game. This is only for games.
The following rules are still in effect:
- Parents should still drop their children off for practices and not stay.
- Everyone must wear a mask when dropping off and when staying for games.
- Social distancing is required.
This was the best we could do with extremely limited space. Wood Road doesn’t have bleachers or anywhere for people to sit, very limited space to congregate and spread out, and social distancing is still a requirement. The Malta Ave gyms are even worse. There isn’t space to congregate at all. If you don’t need to come to watch games at Malta Ave, we would greatly appreciate it if you would just drop off your child.
I understand that everyone is frustrated with these restrictions and the ever changing environment that we are all in, but as an organization we have to follow the guidelines given to us and keep everyone safe, all while trying to offer recreation options for your children. We don’t have options to spread out, nor the scheduling flexibility to schedule less games each night. So we are going to give this a shot. If we find that people are not able to follow this requirement, we will go back to no spectators. Please keep in mind that this program is for the kids to learn to play, have fun and get exercise. That has to remain our focus.

Registration Info for Winter 2022 Basketball
WHO: Boys and girls who are currently in grades K-8 and reside in the Towns of Milton, Malta, or Ballston, or the Village of Ballston Spa.*There are separate boys’ and girls’ teams for the grades 3-5 division. The K-2 & 6-8 divisions are co-ed.
WHEN: Two evenings (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday). Times will either be 5:45 pm or 7 pm, depending on division. K-2 will play Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays (only 2 evenings) at either 5:45 & 7p. Boys 3-6 & Co-ed 6-8 will play Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 7p. Girls 3-5 will play Mondays & Wednesdays at 5:45p.
Where: Milton Terrace/Wood Road gyms for the older divisions. Malta Ave gyms for the K-2 divisions on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Mondays at Milton Terrace/Wood Road gyms.
Dates: Monday, January 10th through February 17th 2022, with no make up games.
COST: $43.00 per child with a limit of $100.00 for 3 children or more. This is the cost to residents of the Towns of Milton, Malta, or Ballston, and the Village of Ballston Spa- who also reside in the Ballston Spa School District. If you do not reside in the Ballston Spa school district, there is an added fee of $25.00.
WE CAN NOT ACCEPT REQUESTS FOR COACHES, CARPOOLING NEEDS, SPECIFIC DAYS OF THE WEEK, TO MEET SCHEDULING NEEDS, OR FOR FRIENDS OR FAMILY MEMBERS (OTHER THAN SIBLINGS) TO BE PLACED TOGETHER.

If you have already created an online account, you will be able to access the information used from your last registration. If any of your personal information has changed, please update it. If prior to this, you have not registered online for a BARC program, you will need to create an account and register. Regular online registration will run from 11/6/21- 11/27/21. Late registration will run from 11/28/21-12/5/21. A late fee of $10.00 will be added to any registration placed in that time period.
