Tom Slocum

Board Chairman

Tom Slocum has been a resident of the Village of Ballston Spa for over 30 years and a member of the BARC Board for over 25 years. He has served in various capacities at BARC such as the Program Coordinator for the Swimming, T-Ball, Baseball and Basketball programs as well as the BARC Board Secretary. Tom became the BARC Board Chairman in 2010. He has four grown children who all participated in BARC programs. Tom works as an Electrical Engineering Manager at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory.

Board of Education Representative

Holly was elected in May 2022 to complete the unexpired term of a former Board member and was sworn in and seated as a Board member on May 18, 2022.  Her educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Education, School Counseling Concentration from SUNY Oneonta, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Elmira College. She is currently serving as the Director of the Welcome Experience at the University at Albany. Her school/community involvement includes serving as the former Chair of the Ballston Spa Education Foundation; as well as a Ballston Area Recreation Commission Board member from 2013-2019. She is a 21-year resident in the district and lives in Malta with her husband Shaun and son Collin, who is a sophomore at Ballston Spa High School and Early College High School.

Nancy Fodera

Nancy lives in Malta and has a son (Frank – 35) in California and daughter (Christie – 32) in North Carolina with husband and two daughters. She served on the Ballston Spa School board for over 21 years and was very active volunteering in each school for over 25 years. Nancy was also a girl scout leader and active in the boy scouts for over 12 years, was one of the founders of the NYS Day Care Association and has helped many other volunteer organizations in our area. She has been involved with BARC since her children started school. They participated in every sport offered, attended some enrichment classes and were referees and umpires when they were older. When on the School Board of Education Nancy was the BARC representative and then continued on the BARC board afterwards as an officer. She has been a member of the BARC board since 2009. Nancy is owner of Tigger’s Tiny Tots Day Care (for over 35 years now) and works part time for the Town of Malta Highway Department.

Joel Glastetter

Joel Glastetter

Board Co-Chair/ Treasurer

Joel is a long time resident of the Ballston Spa area and grew up right in the village. He played BARC sports as a kid, refereed for BARC as a teen and coached both BARC and CDYSL teams as a young adult. He loves soccer and has been playing competitively since high school.

Joel served as the BARC Soccer Commissioner from 2018 through 2021. He is also the owner/operator of SillyCar Design, a local business as well as a full time employee at SUNY Empire. He joined the Board of Directors in 2022. Joel is very happy to be able to bring his experience and abilities to the BARC team and to still be involved with BARC after all these years.

Pat Kelly

Pat, along with his wife Cheryl, are long time residents of Ballston Spa. They raised their daughters in the Ballston Spa Central School District and were active participants in BARC programming when their daughter were young, often coaching teams. Pat is the Chief Information Officer at Saratoga Eagle.  He has served on the BARC Board for  almost 15 years in various capacities.

Nicole was born and raised in Ballston Spa.  She currently lives in the village with her husband raising their three children with her youngest being in elementary and her oldest in high school.  Nicole has a Masters in Public Administration and works in the law enforcement field for Saratoga County.  Growing up Nicole enjoyed being on various BARC soccer teams and Saturday enrichment programs, now she gets to enjoy being her son’s BARC soccer coach and bringing her kids to the different enrichment programs offered.  Nicole joined the Board in October of 2023 and is also involved in the local school’s PTA and the community youth football program.  She is excited to be on the board and share her experiences and outgoing personality with BARC and the community.

Angela Iacolucci moved to Ballston Spa during the summer of 2023 with her husband Mark, and their sons, Henry and Jack. Mark was raised in Ballston Spa, and has many happy memories participating in BARC programs, so both boys joined BARC soccer in the fall after the move. Seeing how the soccer program helped her sons find a sense of community in a new place, Angela realized she wanted to volunteer and be a part of it. She joined the BARC board in December of 2023. Angela has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ursinus College, and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Data Science. She works as a Marketing Director for a startup and also volunteers as the Head of Marketing for the Berks Mindfulness Initiative, a non-profit organization that teaches mindfulness and meditation to underserved populations in Berks County, Pennsylvania. In her free time, Angela likes to knit, crochet, paint, read, listen to music, and play board games with her family.

Meghan Mensler

Meghan has been a resident of Ballston Spa for the last 28 years. She grew up playing BARC soccer and being involved in other BARC programs, most recently coaching BARC Basketball for BACC. She is currently the Assistant Executive Director at the Ballston Area Community Center (BACC) –  a neighbor and close partner to BARC. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Leisure Programming from SUNY Cortland in May of 2017, she shortly thereafter began her career at BACC. Prior to becoming the Assistant Executive Director, she served for  four years as one of the Child Care Directors. She quickly fell in love with everything that the BACC stands for, specifically it’s mission to build a better community, and wants to continue to share this vision with BARC. Meghan is truly excited to be a member of the BARC Board and take part in such a vital piece of our community. Meghan joined the BARC Board in December of 2023.

Garry is a life long resident of Ballston Spa and has raised his children here with his wife Jean. Garry is a math teacher at Ballston Spa High School and is the Boys Varsity Soccer Coach and the high school’s Track & Field coach. He and his kids participated in BARC soccer when his kids were in school, and Garry has continued to coach BARC Soccer teams almost every year since.  In addition to BARC, Garry as worked with club soccer programs such as Ballston Spa Soccer Club (BSSC) & NY Elite.  Garry is currently the Director of Coaching at BSSC where he holds summer clinics for kids of all ages at the Eastern Ave fields.  He has been on the BARC board since 2005.

Stacey Sullivan

Stacey is originally from Maine and settled in Ballston Spa when her husband, Tom, was stationed here with the US Navy. Stacey works for the Office of Child Nutrition at New York State Education Department. She and her husband have two children and have been involved in BARC since their son was 4 years old. Stacey has coached BARC teams in the past and is looking forward to coaching her daughter’s teams. She also excited to continue giving back to our community’s youth.  Stacey joined the BARC Board in December of 2023. 

Sue Waters

Village of Ballston Spa Representative/Executive Committee

Sue Waters moved to Ballston Spa in the spring of 2001 with her husband Steve, and their first born Ethan. Two more boys, Justin and Dylan followed to make their family complete. Sue is an RN, and currently the Director of Health Care at the Center for Disability Services. She has enjoyed the village and all that it has to offer, including the BARC programs. All three sons were enrolled in BARC soccer for many years. Ethan also, was employed by BARC as soccer referee. The BARC program was and continues to be an affordable, supportive, and structured program that enabled her sons to learn the game of soccer, as well as hone in on their skills. With this program, they were given the confidence to continue to play soccer at the freshman, JV, and Varsity level at BSPA. Her two older sons, are now both off to college, but you may see her on the sidelines at sporting events or school programs for her youngest.

Sue joined the BARC Board in December of 2022 is extremely happy to be able to give back to this program and the community that gave so much to her family. She hopes to give the support and guidance in the continued success of all that BARC has to offer.
