T-BALL: This program is for children entering K & 1st grades. Players hit from a T and are introduced to the basics of sanctioned baseball. This program starts in the beginning of May with registration opening at the end of February for our spring season, and starts in late August for our new fall season with registration opening in late June. Teams play either one weeknight at 5p or 6p (either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday), and at 9am on Saturday mornings, or they play two weeknights. The fee for this program is $45 per player with a discount for families registering 3 or more players.
INSTRUCTIONAL BASEBALL: In this program, an adult pitches to the player. It is the next step in preparing for sanctioned baseball. Children entering grades 1-3 are eligible. However, those entering 1st grades must have one year of T-Ball prior to registering. This is not a requirement for those entering grades 2 & 3. BARC also offers a Baseball Skills Development Training for one week in August. This training focuses on learning the fundamentals of the sport while having fun! Baseball Skills Development Training will include hitting, fielding, teamwork, basic throw and catch, positioning, footwork, and the basics of baseball. On the 3rd day we will hold a scrimmage!

Summer Baseball Skills Development Training
WHO: Boys and girls who will be entering Grades K-5 in the fall. New and experienced players who want to have fun and learn the fundamentals of baseball through drills. Groups will be divided by age and skills.
WHEN: 1.5 hour sessions on Monday 8/7/23, Tuesday 8/8/23 & Wednesday 8/9/23 from 6p-7:30p. *Rain date 8/10/23
WHERE: Wood Road Campus front fields.
COST: $40 per child – Space is limited so early registration is encouraged.
About this program: BARC Baseball will be offering a skills development training for kids in grades K-5 with no experience required. Students will get to learn the basics of baseball! Our program will provide the equipment necessary other than a baseball glove. This training will focus on learning the fundamentals of the sport while having fun! About our instructor: Ryan Cummings played 4 years as a starter at the College of St. Joseph from 2014-2018. While at the College of St. Joseph he went on to win 2 USCAA National Championships while collecting 4 Player of the Week awards and 1 No-Hitter. He also currently plays in the Albany Twilight League and has 2 all-star appearances. He is formerly the Assistant Baseball Coach at SUNY Adirondack where they reached playoffs in 3 of his 4 seasons. He also does private baseball and, strength and conditioning lessons with all ages. Ryan loves the game and helping young athletes improve mentally and physically at the game of baseball.

Fall 2023 T-ball & Instructional Baseball
Online registration for spring t-ball & instructional baseball will open June 30th and closes August 6th 2023. Late registration period from 7/30/23-8/6/23. Log onto www.ballstonarearec.org and go to the ‘Register/Log In’ link to register or clcik https://ballstonarearec.sportngin.com/register/form/909090051 . If you have already created an online account with Sports Engine, you will be able to access the information used from your last registration. IF YOUR PHONE NUMBER, ADDRESS, EMAIL OR ANY IMPORTANT INFORMATION HAS CHANGED, PLEASE UPDATE IT. Email is utilized for all correspondence with this program.

SEASON BEGINS – August 26th, 2023 ENDS – October 14th, 2023
To be eligible children must be residents of the Towns of Milton, Malta, or Ballston, or the Village of Ballston Spa, and depending on the sport, ENTERING KINDERGARTEN THROUGH THIRD GRADE in September of 2023. Children outside of these grade levels are not eligible.
THESE ARE CO-ED TEAMS. YOU CAN ONLY REGISTER FOR 1 FALL SPORT DUE TO AN OVERLAP OF SCHEDULES. Practices/games are either 2 weeknights or one weeknight & a Saturday morning/early afternoon. There is no Friday or Sunday scheduling.
THERE IS A NON-REFUNDABLE COST OF $45.00 WITH A DISCOUNT FOR A FAMILY OF 3 or more. A late fee of $10.00 will be charged after July 29th and the child is accepted only if there is space. EARLY REGISTRATION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
T-Ball: For students entering Kindergarten or First Grade (2 weeknights or a weeknight & Saturday morning). Week night practices at 5 or 6PM. Saturday practices at either 9am or 11am. (at the Wood Rd. campus front fields)
Instructional Baseball: For students entering Grades 2&3 (Players entering 1st grade accepted with proof of playing on a T-Ball team last season). Same playing days as above. (at the Wood Rd. campus front fields)
WE CAN NOT TAKE REQUESTS TO BE PLACED WITH SPECIFIC COACHES, FRIENDS, or EXTENDED FAMILY MEMBERS; or TO MEET CARPOOLING or OTHER SCHEDULING REQUESTS. Please do not make these requests.
Each child should wear athletic shoes and clothing, bring a glove, and water. It is advised to use bug spray & sunscreen since athletes will be outdoors.
